'37 Bugatti

The '37 Bugatti recreates the Bugatti Type 50, an exclusive, expensively engineered French model built between 1931 and 1933 with only 65 examples made, and the Hot Wheels casting reproduces the two-tone paint schemes for which Bugattis of the era were known. It debuted in the 1981 mainline with metal trunk and fender pieces that were retooled to plastic in 1989, and early 2002 releases mistakenly labeled it a '1932 Bugatti Type 50' before later runs corrected the date. It has since appeared in a 1996 Treasure Hunt release, the 1994 FAO Schwarz Gold Series, and Larry Wood's 35th Anniversary Set in 2004.
