'58 Corvette

The '58 Corvette Coupe casting was designed by Larry Wood and, despite its name, depicts a body style the real Corvette didn't actually offer until the 1963 Sting Ray -- 1958 cars could only be ordered with a removable hardtop. Wood produced two variants of the tooling, one with a supercharged 'blown' engine and one with a simple opening hood, though the metallic purple colorway introduced in 1995 was issued only in the blown version. This 1996 Treasure Hunts release (toy #15082) comes from the casting's 1995-2013 production run.
