'97 Corvette

Designed by Dave Weise for the 1997 First Editions, this casting depicts the fifth-generation "C5" Chevrolet Corvette, styled by John Cafaro and unveiled at the January 1996 North American International Auto Show. The C5 was the first Corvette generation built around GM's third-generation LS-family V8, in this case the 5.7-liter LS1, and remained in production through 2004 with over 248,000 units built before giving way to the C6. The Hot Wheels casting has stayed in the lineup continuously since its 1997 debut and carries a Hot Wheels logo molded into the rear window that has been periodically updated to match current branding.
