Baja Bruiser
Baja Bruiser, designed by Larry Wood for the 1974 Flying Colors lineup, is based on a 1956 Ford pickup reimagined as an off-road racer. It was among the first castings to carry Mattel's new tampo-printed enamel paint rather than the older Spectraflame finish, and it appeared on the redesigned white Flying Colors blister card alongside Heavy Chevy and P-917. The tooling stayed in circulation for years afterward and was eventually revived as a retool between 2009 and 2015.
