BMW M Roadster

Designed by Dave Weise for the 1997 First Editions series, this casting depicts the BMW Z3 M, a high-performance variant of the Z3 platform styled by Marcus Syring and offered from 1997 in both M Coupe and M Roadster body styles. The real car launched with a 3.2-liter inline-six (a 3.2L S52 unit in the US market) mated to a five-speed manual, later upgraded to the S54 engine in 2001 before the model's discontinuation that same year; only 15,322 M Roadsters were ultimately built. The Hot Wheels casting, with "M Roadster" cast into its base, ran from 1997 to 2002.
