Carabo
Carabo, sculpted by Ira Gilford for the 1970 line, reproduces the wedge-shaped Alfa Romeo Carabo concept that Marcello Gandini designed for Bertone and unveiled at the 1968 Paris Motor Show, built on an actual Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale chassis and named for its iridescent green-and-orange paint resembling Carabidae beetles. Its sharply creased styling influenced later Gandini designs including the Lamborghini Countach, and it stood as the last Alfa Romeo-based Hot Wheels casting until the Prototipo Alfa Romeo B.A.T. 9 arrived in 2005.
