Chevy Nomad

Sold in 1996 under the name Chevy Nomad, this casting is properly known as the Classic Nomad, an Ira Gilford design that first appeared in the Mattel mainline back in 1969 as Alive '55 / '55 Nomad. It reimagines a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad hot rod fitted with a 409 V8, dressed up with fantastical touches like an all-wheel-drive marine gearset and turbo jump jets. The tool has been retooled multiple times, including removal and later restoration of its opening hood, and the car later appeared on screen in the Hot Wheels: World Race and AcceleRacers films, driven by the character Lani Tam.
