Corvette Stingray III

The Corvette Stingray III recreates a 1992 Chevrolet concept car penned by John Schinella at GM's Advanced Concept Center in California, chosen by design vice-president Chuck Jordan over two rival in-house proposals during early work toward what became the C5 Corvette. The real car debuted at the 1992 Detroit auto show with a stretched wheelbase, dual analog-digital instrumentation, and a V6 that reportedly was later swapped for a 5.7-liter LT1 V8; a projected $300,000 price tag kept it from reaching production. Michael Kollins turned it into a Hot Wheels casting for the 1993 Demolition Man tie-in series, where the real concept made a brief on-screen cameo.
