Custom AMX

Custom AMX, an Ira Gilford design for the 1969 lineup, was cast only in the USA and issued exclusively with white interiors, most riding on silver Delrin "bearing" redline wheels before later runs switched to chrome-capped wheels. A scarce UK-only variant, sponsored tie-in stickers referencing real-life drag racer Ed Shaver, is otherwise identical to the standard blue release, making authenticity a common concern for collectors. The casting returned in 2010, after a 41-year absence, as a Red Line Club membership exclusive.
