Custom Corvette

This casting depicts a fourth-generation Chevrolet Corvette convertible fitted with a Greenwood Phase 2 body kit, giving it noticeably wider, more aggressive proportions than Hot Wheels' earlier '80s Corvette tooling. Marketed under several names over the years, including '83 Custom Corvette, Custom Corvette, and Corvette Stingray, it debuted in 1989 as part of the Speed Fleet series and ran for 11 years before its 1999 Final Run send-off. It was also produced in India by Leo Mattel in the early 1990s in colors like black, red, and metalflake silver, and a rare 1998 JCPenney 24K Performance Collection version was limited to 5,000 gold-chrome pieces.
