Dune Daddy

Dune Daddy is a 1973 reissue of Tom Daniel's Sand Crab dune-buggy design -- adapted for Hot Wheels by Howard Rees and first released in 1970 -- retooled to remove its glass canopy and switched from Spectraflame to cheaper enamel paint as part of that year's cost-cutting measures. The original Sand Crab had appeared in the Hot Wheels animated TV series driven by the character Jack 'Rabbit' Wheeler Sr., and Dune Daddy stayed in the lineup into the Flying Colors era before a modern retool ran from 2007 to 2012.
