Ferrari 250

The Ferrari 250 casting, designed by Larry Wood, is a 1/64 rendition of the Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa, a Le Mans-era sports racer built from 1957 to 1961 after regulations capped engine size at 3 liters. Designed by Carlo Chiti and Giotto Bizzarrini and clothed mostly in Scaglietti's distinctive pontoon-fendered bodywork, only 33 real examples were produced, and its 'Testa Rossa' name refers to the red-painted cam covers on its engine. Over the years Hot Wheels has issued this casting under several names, including Classic Ferrari and Ferrari 250 TR; this 1996 Treasure Hunts release (toy #15076) is one of its rarer short-run colorways.
