Ferrari 348
The Ferrari 348 casting, designed by Larry Wood, models the real 348, styled by Leonardo Fioravanti of Pininfarina and unveiled at the 1989 Frankfurt show as successor to the 328. It holds the distinction of being the last V8 Ferrari developed under Enzo Ferrari's direction, though production began after his death, and its 3.4-liter V8 was paired with the first transverse manual gearbox fitted to a road-going Ferrari. Ferrari built 8,844 examples in coupe (348 TB) and targa (348 TS) form; this 1996 mainline release (toy #12933) is drawn from the casting's 1991-2009 production run.
