Fire Eater

Fire Eater is an original fantasy design drawing on the cab-over-engine fire trucks common in 1970s America, and it has stayed in near-continuous production since debuting in 1977 as part of the Flying Colors series before joining the mainline the following year. Card art credits the design simply to 'Hot Wheels' out of the El Segundo, California studio. A major 2021 retool moved the front fascia from the body to the base and switched later releases to plastic bodies, and over its run the casting has appeared in Rescue Team, Workhorses, HW Rescue, and Spider-Man themed sets.
