Grass Hopper

Grass Hopper, designed by Larry Wood for the 1971 lineup, reimagines a Willys MB Army Jeep as a hot-rodded off-roader carrying two supercharged V8s -- one up front, one in the bed -- along with a removable roof and cast-in tools like a pick, shovel, and gas can. It was retooled in 1974 with the rear engine and roof deleted, retooled again in 1975 with both engines removed, and that stripped-down version was reused to create the machine-gun-toting Gun Slinger later that year; a further retool named Mountain Goat appeared in 2010.
