Hiway Hauler

This 1992 Hiway Hauler casting is a more modern, aerodynamic redesign of the original 1980 tooling, depicting a cab-over-engine hauler with a dual rear axle and turbo diesel engine, developed at Hot Wheels' El Segundo, California studio. It launched in the 1992 mainline in red with Kool-Aid 'Wacky Warehouse' promotional graphics, and went on to carry numerous retail and licensed liveries for McDonald's, Hormel, H-E-B, and Kroger through the late 1990s. It later anchored the Hot Wheels Classics and RLC exclusive lines before being succeeded by the Hiway Hauler 2 and Hiway Hauler 3.0 castings.
