1969 #6254
Lola GT70
Lola GT70, an Ira Gilford design for the 1969 Grand Prix series, is based on the British-built Lola T70, a V8-powered sports racer that won the 1969 24 Hours of Daytona with Mark Donohue and Chuck Parsons at the wheel before being eclipsed by the Porsche 917 and Ferrari 512 under new homologation rules. The die-cast version features an opening rear hatch over a detailed engine and was produced in both USA and Hong Kong facilities, distinguished mainly by glass tint, before the casting was retired for good.
