Mercedes 540K

The Mercedes 540K casting reproduces the classic 1930s German luxury tourer and first entered the Hot Wheels mainline in 1982, manufactured in Hong Kong with a tan convertible top, clear windows, and black interior as recurring standard details. It remained in production through the late 1990s, appearing in the 1988 Classics series, a 20th Anniversary three-pack that same year, and a 1/12 release in the 1999 Treasure Hunt series before closing out with a Final Run edition. Wheel types evolved across its run from early Big Wheels to White Walls and later 5-Spoke and 3-Spoke designs.
