Mercedes-Benz 280SL
Mercedes-Benz 280SL, designed by Ira Gilford for the 1969 lineup, replicates the real 280 SL that Mercedes-Benz introduced in 1968 with a fuel-injected 2.8-liter inline-six producing 170 hp. The Hot Wheels version, cast exclusively in Hong Kong with blue-tinted glass, features an opening hood over a detailed six-cylinder engine, and European-market releases added a black-painted roof not found on other regions' examples. It was reissued in 1973 with enamel paint, including a run manufactured in Mexico by CIPSA.
