Peugeot 205 Rallye

This casting, designed by Larry Wood, represents the Peugeot 205 T16, the Group B rally car built by Heuliez for Peugeot Talbot Sport and developed by a team including Jean-Pierre Boudy and Andre de Cortanze. Despite sharing its name and looks with the road-going 205 hatchback, the T16 was mechanically unrelated, running a turbocharged 1.8L inline-four through a five-speed manual to all four wheels, with only around 200 road versions built to satisfy homologation rules. The 205 T16 went on to become one of the most successful cars of the short-lived Group B era, and the Hot Wheels casting ran from 1989 to 1997.
