Designed by Larry Wood, this Porsche 911-based casting debuted in the 1975 Flying Colors series as the P-911. Early first-edition runs carried "PORSCHE CARRERA" molded into the base and "PORSCHE" cast into the rear, before the tooling was altered to address licensing concerns with the automaker. The casting went on to have one of Hot Wheels' longest production runs, finally being retired as part of the Final Run Series in 2001.
