Power Pipes

Power Pipes, designed by Bruce Baur, was originally conceived under the working names Rim Snorter and Power Racer and depicts a futuristic sports car with prominent twin air intakes behind the cockpit feeding a turboshaft engine, its shape reportedly inspired by the real Oldsmobile Aerotech concept car. It shares a naming and stylistic kinship with the similarly themed Power Pistons casting, debuting in the 1995 Model Series before joining the 1997 Phantom Racer Series. A 2015 retooling gave it a more angular "post-post" look with smaller, more detailed air intakes, and it later appeared as car #05 in the Highway 35 World Race storyline, driven by Felix Sharky of the Wave Rippers team.
