Power Pistons

Designed by Terry Choy for the 1995 Model Series, Power Pistons depicts a futuristic land-speed-record racer conceived with a 6.0-liter V12 and shaped specifically to perform well on Hot Wheels track sets. In 1997 it appeared in the Phantom Racer Series, and the tooling was later updated in 2015 with a fixed canopy (removing the earlier side mirrors) and a redesigned exhaust, switching from vertical twin pipes to side-mounted triple pipes integrated into the interior piece. The casting later took on a fictional identity as car #21 in the Highway 35 World Race storyline, driven by Esmeralda Sanchez of the Road Beasts team.
