Road Rocket

Road Rocket, designed by Terry Choy and originally listed internally as Rocket Shot, is an open-cockpit racer inspired by cars from the World Sportscar Championship, featuring a hinged aerodynamic lid that doubles as an engine cover and cooling duct for its large 5.0-liter flat-ten. Introduced in the 1996 First Editions, it moved into the 1997 Phantom Racer Series and stayed in the lineup through 2015; a 2015 retooling fused the lid permanently to the body. The casting was later fictionalized as car #12 of the Highway 35 World Race, driven by Bart "Shrimp" Scampi of the Street Breed team.
