Shelby Cobra 427 S/C

Sold today as the Shelby Cobra 427 S/C but originally released in 1983 as Classic Cobra, this Larry Wood casting is based on the AC Cobra Carroll Shelby built by fitting a Ford V8 into a modified AC Ace chassis, specifically the Mk III version with full-length side-exit exhausts. The '427' in the name refers to the engine's displacement in cubic inches, while 'S/C' denotes the higher-output Semi-Competition trim; the casting was retooled in 2020 into a post-post design that lost its opening hood and some underbody detail.
