Shelby Turbine
Shelby Turbine, sculpted by Ira Gilford for the 1969 lineup, commemorates the turbine-powered Indy cars built by Ken Wallis for Carroll Shelby's 1968 Indianapolis 500 entries, cars that were ultimately withdrawn before the race rather than the STP-Paxton Turbocar that actually competed. Most examples have black interiors, with grey/champagne and rare white interiors also documented, and cars shipped with a metal Collector's Button. It even turned up as an image on a Jack in the Box drinking cup in 1970.
