Sol-Aire CX-4
The Sol-Aire CX-4 is an original Larry Wood design depicting an 1980s-style Group C sports prototype racer, notable for a hinged rear engine cover that opens to reveal a visible engine. It debuted in 1984 as part of the Ultra Hots series in unpainted, metallic silver, and Spectraflame red finishes, and a 1989 retool changed the rear wing from a closed to an open design. Despite being a Hot Wheels original rather than a licensed replica, some Race Team releases carried Chevrolet insignia, and the casting also featured in the Heroes on Hot Wheels television series and 1998's Treasure Hunt and Flyin' Aces lines.
