Steam Roller

Designed by Larry Wood, Steam Roller debuted in the 1974 Flying Colors lineup as an open-wheel dragster styled like an oversized hot-rod steamroller. It ran through Flying Colors, Super Chromes, and Speedway Specials releases before being retired in 1978 after just four seasons, then resurfaced decades later in a 2011 The Hot Ones retool. Early redline versions occasionally turn up with mismatched "hybrid" wheel sets, and examples with seven-star hood graphics are considered scarcer variants.
